Ready to take flight for the summer

Funniest text I ever have received came yesterday during a crisis.
Let me explain the crisis. As most of you know I have had my fighting squirrels hat for ages. It dates back to my time as a marauding eagle. (Marycrest RIP).

Sunday night out to dinner with Mama Derryberry and I left the second most important clothing item at the restaurant. (the most important item being the Marycrest sweatshirt) I did not realize this until Monday afternoon when I go looking for the best hat ever. I realize it's gone as I tear my room apart. I reluctantly call the restaurant thinking there is no way they kept it. Look at the picture above if you saw that hat you would probably think the guy left it on purpose. A lady at the restaurant answers and I explain my dilemma. She said could you describe your hat?

My answer it's got a squirrel with boxing gloves and looks like it needs to be thrown away.
Her Response: yep it's right here.

I drive over to get my hat with my nerves calming down. My phone makes a sound I flip open my 80's leather cover to read:

Played slow pitch softball yesterday. Some guys says... ur pretty good, where did you play college ball? ... I said, at El Orchard.. He said, never heard of it..

I'm taking a break from posting on the NBA to bring you much needed news on the Eagle's summer plans.

First and foremost a big ca-caww to three new Eagles; Mike, Albert, and Cham30. We continue to grow and spread our wings to new areas.

We have a globetrotter’s game into the books, also a trip to Minnesota for a baseball game in the books for spring events. (I love acting like getting together with old college buddies is an social event)

On to the summer
June 1st 2nd and 3rd we'll be the second outdoor living room. It will be held at Steven's house in Cedar Rapids. It's celebration for Kyle moving to Cedar Rapids.

On the 1st we will be having a flying eagles Olympics. 5 events, A ping pong tournament, a bags tournament, Whiffle ball home run contest, Texas Hold em tournament and finally one judged event (judges to be determined at a later date and time) A slip and slide event.

The weekend of the July 4th The yearly El Dora camping trip, Ranger Rott will be in attendance. "It's the pancake breakfast we do it every year"

Finally July 25th through the 27th Flag Football year two.

The roster will be changing, as every position is up for grabs, except Braden's because he's 6'4". I'm even trying to get my brother to come play so we have a real quarterback. Let me know whose in and who's out. I know Zach might be up in the air with the first eagle baby getting ready to hatch.

I'm hoping for

Wildman-TheMule-Kylebuddy-Michelle-Fathead-Jim-Steven-BigBear?-Ben-Jay-Ross-GoldenBoy(my brother)-The hipster and Jerred that's 14. I would like to have 12 for sure and have the roster reach 14. if we can add some athlete's let me know. And yes Jim Strand cane play for this GM any day of the week.
My inspiration for this year's flying Eagles flag football team Eli Manning, he took his bumps and bruises but came back smarter, better and ready to take over the world.
