We Did It Eagles!

Well to be honest I don't think any of the eagles thought we could do it. To be honest I didn't know we had it in us either. We eagles may be able to charm the pants of ladies and other authority figures, but we don't usually reap the benefits from doing so... well not today. The rag-tag eagles went to Cedar Rapids home of the eagles and harnessed that energy to put together a 2-1 record as well as a sportsmanship award. CHARACTER COUNTS BABY!!

I know Albert and Clint mentioned they didn't want any part of the award but not so i tried to take their negatives and turn it into a positive. Although they weren't too bad everyone on the Eagles should be very proud. (i mean it). We did a good thing up there and paved the way for many more eagle victories to come. Plus since Jim Bowers didn't play i think i got an extra awards medal from him.

So keep those beaks up and fly high. I love you all eagles GREAT JOB.
Let's get sweaty people. Basketball sweaty.

Eagles like shiny things!!

I think this could be attributed to two things:
1) Facial Hair
2) JP calling out #41 on his overindulgence of brown-nosing

i want to amend that paragraph about the extra medal. i meant to say that the additional medal was for Dean. not jim bowers. I don't mean to snub jim but i thought it would be nice to give dean the fruits of some of his labors.

I honestly thought that the Sportsmanship award was a running joke that someone made up that weekend. I didn't know a team was actually going to be given medals. However, I'll be more than proud to wrap that cool bronze around my neck. Ah, the chill of victory.

I can assure you that out of the 16 teams that partook in the iowa games this year only 6 teams came away with that coveted bronze. Look i can see the hesitancy in accepting the award but I in my grace and wisdom have learned that finding the silver lining in the clouds is something the wise man does.
Be kind to each other young grasshoppers for the Iowa games was a great showing for the athletic department and social club in general. spreading our joy and kindness to all ends of Iowa and the world.

one love
