Mini Van, NBA, and Texas what could be better

Scottie has the unfortunate life where he has only been on a couple of road trips, and I being a man of action said this sounds like a way to get the gang together for a unnecessary necessary road trip some place cool. Scottie and I chatted one night at the fliers club and we decided on a trip to Texas in February or March when it's cold up here, might as well go south. The idea is to catch a San Antonio game, and Dallas game with South Padre in between. This is what Scottie has come up with so far

I figured let's get a mini van (ride in style) head south for some NBA games maybe a little south padre Islands, we could go out for some chicken and sex you know just see what happens. We figured with the Mini Van we've got five to six spots for Eagles to Join On. Zach and Steven we know your Married but your more then welcome to ditch the wife for the road and come along. This is what Scottie has unearthed so far.

i looked at the websites for the major rental places, and it looks like it would cost about $350 to rent a minivan for a week. so that would be $70/person (based on 5 of us) for the rental. and Google says its about 1,300 miles from DSM to South Padre, TX. so that is at lease 2,600 miles, but maybe closer to 3,000 with driving around in towns and all that jazz. If you figure a minivan averages 25 Miles/Gallon, that's 120 gallons of gas to buy. Probably an average of around $3/gallon, which is $360...about another $70 each.

so we are looking at about $140/person for van rental and gas.

Also, we would have to look at the basketball schedule again...since SA is like 2 hrs south of Dallas, there would be a lot of back-tracking to go to SA on Monday and then head back to Dallas Tuesday to see Dallas/Lakers. we could go straight to SA on the way down and catch SA/Boston...go down to South Padre for couple days...and see Dallas/Boston on our way back up...or stay thru sunday and see Dallas/SA

SAN ANTONIO SCHEDULE
Mon, Mar 17 Boston

DALLAS SCHEDULE
Tue, Mar 18 Los Angeles
Thu, Mar 20 Boston
Sun, Mar 23 San Antonio

The eagles are flying south for the spring

Scotty - The Mule - Dont said...

other possible ventures could include a road trip to check out the bells and whistles of the East Coast chapter...maybe bunk it up with Ranger Rott...camp in his back yard...I heard that women have been known to walk around Rott's yard in only a coat!

Texas is next to Mexico, and I'm ready for a Donkey Show,
