The main office has weighed the nominations have made some touch decisions but it's time to unveil the nominees for this years awards. Good luck to all the nominees and thanks to everyone for another wonderful year.
High flyer award:
Braden Yauk
Pro: Attended every event but the globetrotter game, a main cog in the flying eagle basketball team, scored three touch downs in the 1st win for the flag football team. Best describe as the straw the stirs the eagle's drinks
Con: only can attend an event if someone can give him a ride.

Scottie Dont
Pro attended every eagle event this year, gold medalist in the flying eagles Olympics, Dominating middle linebacker for the flag football team with the sweetest raspberry. Excellent MR. Poone costume for fletch o ween.
Con: Drives a Kia, and we all know Kia back doored our president.
Eagle Vision:
John Derryberry:
Pro: does most of the organizing and blogging keeping everyone updated on what's going on in the club
Con: Because he can't spell it's tough to understand what exactly is going on in the club

Pro: designed primo shirts for the flag football team
Con: Openly admitted to ignoring his flying eagle duties all because he had a kid
Old Prospector
Marcus Thie: just two pieces, all nighter, and keeping the fire stroked with wood

Scottie Dont: Pulled the all nighter with out a small nap, totally wasted while eating breakfast pizza, got accused of cheating on his girl friend with Kyle

Pro hosted out door living room, and finished third in the Olympics, and strong showing in Flag football
Con: He's a slumlord who over charges for rent, he's married, and folded like a lawn chair in the Olympics to finish third.

Braden: doesn't have a car so uses his environment to travel eagle events, plus he's not polluting the environment

Athleagle of the year
Braden 3 touchdowns in flag football, lock down D in game three of the basketball tournament, more than likely leading scorer for b-ball team
Zach: Rebounding machine during basketball team, played all forty minutes in a must win game three of the b-ball tournament.

Marcus for never actually bring a jello mold to an event

Eagle Vision: John, even though he misspelled his nickname (Hipter) on the Olympics scoreboard, as well as his own name (Jon) in this post.
Prospector: S.Dont...yes im voting for myself. Marcus is a worthy nomination, but he did take a nap and i was just as loud chopping wood at 5am (but i didnt have an axe)
Hatchling: Steven, his marriage was prior to being accepted into the FESC, so negated. in his first year of service he has sent an uncanny precident for the "Open Door" policy in the FESC Bylaws by actually letting people live there. but as much as he likes the Cowboys, it's ironic that in the Olympics he caved like the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl!
Black Hawk: Marcus, crane game was classic, but he was also in touch with Mother Nature with chopping wood at 5am at Eldora
Mother Hen: Mesha...Cake! Pam made a solid run with only a few months. but it is not the Eagle way to try so hard to win something that doesnt even come with a trophy or anything tangible. should be a great race next year.
Athleagle: Braden, just an impressive display, dispite worthy efforts from many others
Jello: im set on a write in vote for Kyle, never bringing money/wallet and leaving his clothes everywhere (eldora and flag football)

Eagle Vision - Zach Letzring
While John's grammatical inconsistencies are problematic, they are well with the bounds of acceptable eagle behavior. However, I don't see John making new eagles. The vision is about the future and Zach is insuring the survival of the eagles with babies.
Old Prospector - Scottie Don't
Scottie pulled multiple duties this year at El Dora. All nighter, alleged adultery, and let's not forget that he DIDN'T bump the mule this year. That's points in itself.
Hatchling of the year - Have not met either candidates so I decline to vote.
Essence of Black Hawk - Braden Yauk
In the current state of the global oil market Braden has alleviated himself from the technological dependence of the autmotive-oil industrial complex. This not only harkins back to his relationship with the land in the true native american spirit, but it also probably makes him a better dude for having to always be nice to his friends.
Mother Hen: Mesha
The mother cares for her hatchlings. Mesha apparently feeds and provides shelter for several Eagles. Hey, that's what moms do, that and make Kool-Aid, better tell Mesha to get on the Kool-Aid and not that sugar free shit. We need to be hyper.
Pam- we don't beg for awards.
Athleage - Braden Yauk
I hate to see a sweep in the awards but Braden had a good year as an Eagle. Football and Basketball dominance is hard to argue with.
Jello Molder - Scottie Don't
I wanted to vote for Marcus here, but the reality is I can't vote for nothing. A Vote for marcus here would be a vote for not actually doing anything. So Scottie gets the nod for the Dine and Dash because of his bold ambition.

braden for above stated reasons plus quasi-hosting the FESC flag football. Never before have Eagles lived in the luxury of pools, bar b q chicken, flame throwers, kegs and spectating water sports. Can Big Al get some love on an award?

Tough call but I give the nod to John for the tireless blogging and doing the legwork to organize events. As a whole we do fly independent but there ain't no party like an Eagles party and John is usually putting it together.
Old Prospector
Last year was a no brainer for Braden-Construction hat, The deer bladder.. But I think Scotty gets it this year. Big ups for no napping but also being part of another chapter in Eldora lore for his "infidelities".

I would gladly hand off this award to any suitor but in good conscious really couldn't vote for Scotty, the man brings the goods. So my vote goes to Kyle "whats your name" Johnson for failing to come prepared with his rolodex of FESC members' legal names.
And for the record, I did bring a Jello Mold to an event.

Steven is still in his first year??? Get the man an award. He's paid dues. Providing room and board for fellows punches your ticket.
Essence of Black Hawk
Adam? "Rott" Rottinghaus. The man pretty much just brought himself and an axe an essential tool to the Eldora experience and made the weekend. Native American tribes famously traveled as lightly and efficiently as possible. The spirit of Blackhawk is strong in this one.
Mother Hen-
I can't vote against Mesha's Eagle cake or Pams Cambridge hospitality. But if it comes to a decisive vote I vote for Pam for attending both Eldora and hosting Flag football.
Atheagle- Braden. Just get him the damn ball! The mans a walking TD. Close second to Golden Boy.
