Kyle goes down
We all are aware of Kyle's Madden habit. Braden and I have been apart of it for the last three or four years on the receiving end of loss after loss to our Buddy Kyle. The last victory for me was back in the Des Moines house with the famous Brook Bollinger Seahawks taking down Kyle in the Super bowl. I mention this often to Kyle because our life time series is A number of wins for Kyle and one win for me. I'm like a little brother bragging about landing one punch when a the big brother wasn't looking, and Kyle is like the big brother who continues to pound one me reminding that one time was luck.
Of coarse Kyle and I pre-ordered Madden and went and got it at midnight the day it came out. Three hours later The House teams were drafted with Steven phoning in his picks while in New Orleans( Dedication). Kyle choose the KC Chiefs and I choose the Denver Broncos. I know not the best choice if trying to win Madden having to play Kyle twice a year but I figured more trash talking, and two times a year i get to play the best, giving me a chance to beat the best.
The first three weeks rolled with Kyle winning all three and I matched him with three as well. Steven not so well 2-1 after three weeks, Week four match-up one Chiefs vs. Broncos. My defense vs Kyle's Offense. I choose 12 defensive guys first in the hopes of slowing kyle down and keeping him around 28 points. Kyle choose his array of offensive weapons.
Funny thing happened. My team hung around, made some plays and had the tied the game late in the forth but Kyle was driving. I get a stripe and a fumble return for a touchdown, The D payed off, the d payed off. Now I'm jumping around the house screaming. It takes Kyle all of one offensive play to tie the game at 31 with a 80 bomb to his WR. I'm deflated but not out. I have two time outs and 27 seconds to get into field goal range. Kyle blitzes and I complete a post over the middle for twenty yards. The Broncos are in business. Next a ten yard out and jump out of bounds. Finally my quick and ample body QB Dennis Dixon scrambles for ten yards. Time out with 5 seconds left and I'm kicking a field goal. I also drafted Nate Keading so I'm kicking game would be solid considering my offensive was going to be a weakness. Nate seals the win and I survive the kick return. Kyle goes down. It was only week four but now maybe this can be a rivalry instead of a beat down. Maybe Dennis Dixon will be the new Bollinger.
1) I find my self intrigued by the Olympic basketball competition. I really want USA to stampede to gold. I check scores and read every article I can find about what's going on over there.
2) I think this guys leaving the NBA for over seas is great because it will finally make David Stern change the way he thinks. I hope this opens the game to brand new ideas and demonstrate how small the world the world really is. With that said I hope the NBA stays the golden standard for years to come
