A Juciy Post.

OK John and Braden i am hoping you will understand these plays and find them helpful. I thought the regular motion offense was the way to go. Also i figure the best way to stay fresh and not stagnant is to sub and sub often. with a up and down style (Run n' Gun).

Motion
Have the guards starting low and busting up for the ball on the wing looking into the post.
If the post isnt there you screen away and let the other post come across.
After the PG passes to either wing he screens away for the guard without the ball.
Then the process starts all over again or reverse the ball so on and so forth.

Then there is R & J One
JP at point
Braden at the top for a screen
Scott and Marcus on the Bottom for a screen for Mike M.

Options in no particular order
1 - John passes the ball to braden and rolls off him to the basket with Braden looking at the cut
2 - Braden fakes the hand off turns and goes to the basket or shoots the J
3 - John uses the screen to go to the basket shoot a jumper or look at Mike M on the screen in the lane.
4 - Braden look from high post to low post for mike in the lane
5 - After Marcus picks on the low screen he pops to the arch or the corner for a three pass from braden or mike m.

R & J Two
JP at point
Braden and MIke M top circle setting screen for marcus
Scott and Marcus staggered on right hand side
Marcus comes off screen Scott goes to corner for 3

Options in no particular order
1 - John dribbles over to the right side
2 - Braden and Mike double screen for marcus off top of key for 3 pointer
3 - Braden and MIke after screen both roll to the hoop
4 - Marcus can look at shot or look at the cutter or look and scotty on the left side
5 - Jp is our easy out for the reset.

On defense i figured we would go with man to man or a tenacious 2-3 zone.

This is my idea for the line ups and subs

STARTING 5
PG - JP Derryberry
SG - Scott Smith
SF - Marcus Thie
PF - Braden Yauk
C - Mike Mullenix

subs at first break.
SG - Jeff Prater
SF - Steve Hamer
PF - Clint Woodward
C - Zach Letzring

Albert and Kyle can come in on the in betweens at the guard spots.

JP - Braden my unofficial (official) assistant coaches what are you thoughts also check the side for some new youtube clips i will be quoting those this weekend alot.

in conclusion hows that for the two plays
Romeo & Juliet and then putting that retched ball in that god forsaken hole.

The Ursa Major.

THE MOTION IS GOOD, THERE IS ALSO A GOOD OPPERTUNITY FOR A PICK AND ROLL ON THE SIDE THE MOTION STARTS, IF THE POST LOOKS FOR THE BALL AND IT'S NOT THERE GO STRAIGHT OUT FOR A PICK AND ROLL ON THE WING WITH SPACE TO MOVE. ALSO MAKE SURE IF YOU ARE THE OPPOSITE POST PLAYER AT THE START OF THE MOTION TRY TO SPACE OUT TO THE CORNER TO SPREAD THE D., IF THERE IS NO CROSS SCREEN FROM THE OTHER POST. MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY MOTION OFFENSE IS FOR EVERYONE TO KEEP MOVING.

R&J #1- I LIKE CLINT AT THE HIGH POST SPOT, WITH MYSELF OR ZACH INSIDE AND MARCUS, OR SCOTTIE(MAYBE EVEN PRATER)OR MIKE SPOTING UP. IT MIGHT WORK WELL TO START CLINT LOW AND HAVE SOMEONE SET A DOWN SCREEN FOR HIM TO POP UP AND START THE O.(THATS JUST TO ENSURE A CLEAN START TO THE PLAY) ALSO, MIKE IS MORE OF A GAURD THAN A BIG, HE'S A BETTER SHOOTER THAN ANYTHING. JP HAS PLAYED WITH HIM MORE SO MAY BE BETTER AT ASSESING MIKE'S PROWESS.

I ALSO THINK THE MORE WE CAN RUN AND GET EASY BUCKETS THE BETTER(A LA THE SUNS) I PROPOSE THAT AFTER ANY REBOUND ONE OF THE BIGS RUN DIRECTLY TO THE FRONT OF THE RIM, AND WHOEVER GETS THE REBOUND LOOK UP RIGHT AWAY AND EITHER PUSH IT IMMEDIATLY YOURSELF OR FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN GET IT UP THE FLOOR IN A HURRY. JUST AS A WARNING ANY REBOUND I GET I'M GOING FULL BORE DOWN THE FLOOR WITH ANYONE WHO'S RUNNING WITH ME. I ALSO THINK A GOOD DEFAULT DEFENSE TO START WITH IS THE ZONE, JUST SO WE CAN FIND OUT FAST WHO CAN SHOOT AND WHO CAN PENTETRATE THE ZONES. I THINK THAT INFO WILL HELP OUR STRATEGY FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. SAME THING WITH RUNNING PICK AND ROLLS EARLY, JUST TO SEE HOW THE TEAM DEFENDS IT. SORRY THIS WAS SO LONG WINDED AND HOPEFULY IT WAS UNDERSTANDABLE. LATER.

I like the assessment Braden.

Here is how the teams we plays breaks down. First Game against Spencer they have 7 players right now. So that game especially we need to run it back as fast as possible. get them tired and take care of them quick.

Second game against SS. Johnson they have 11 players. So we might not be able to get them tired but that doesn't mean we will shy away from our game plan.

Third game we play is against C-Town Cresco and they only have 7 players as of now listed. so again no matter how in shape either of the two teams with 7 players are there is now way they can compete against 12 guys.

We are running the 2-3 on defense i love it. gotta get those boards. Ok so maybe we start Braden and myself at the PF and C spots with Mike coming off the bench for fire power with the B squad? let me know your thought yauk?
