Iowa games here we come again.

A note about Saturday the 9th

Steven a fellow Eagle has offered up his house as a place to crash for Saturday night. He has an apartment that is empty. So bring a futon, air mattress, sleeping bag, every one is welcome to stay there. I have Friday night off as well. Scottie and Marcus are coming to stay with me Friday night, I can house two more in my small apartment. We were thinking maybe some poker Friday night. Let me know what you think. I'm guessing Zach will let everyone Know where and When the first game is
We are going with the flag football shirts and blue shorts again. Those Jerseys need to feel a win, their to sweet not to.

Now on to the motivation part of the post.

As we all know the Flying Eagles athletic department venture into the competitive world was meet with excitement and disappointment. In the first game ever as a flag football team, the eagles squandered a forth quarter lead, with a suddenly leaky defense and a Terrible game killing interception by yours truly ( the main reason for the loss). The second game wasn't even competitive. It was fun and we will tackle the flag football demons on another day.
But did that keep us down, No. We are back, and this time with a b-ball team that promises to bring home the first win in Flying Eagles athletic history. The Roster Hand picked by a veteran Eagle, Zach Letzring. Zach spent many nights weighing his options of what type of team needed to be assembled to bring home the first egg to the nest. He went out and found lost members of the famed 118 team, Clint and Prater. He combed the courts of Hanover and found the some of the greatest dirt court players ever, he brought back great eagles such as Braden "the Condor" Yauk, Kyle "all defense" Johnson, Scottie "the mule" Smith, Marcus "I don't know what a winning record looks like, Thie, and John "I hope I make my first jump shot so they think I'm a shooter, Derryberry.
This isn't the dream team, but it's damn close like the dream team that had Ben Wallace on it. And just as Shug Jordan rallied us with his immortal words "Remember David was 40 point underdog to Goliath, this team too will have a rallying cry...
"There are really only two plays: Romeo and Juliet, and put the darn ball in the basket."
-- Abe Lemons ( the most successful basketball coach in the history of Oklahoma)
and with that will will take on the best Iowa has to offer and put that ball in the basket.

a memo from the Athletic department and John Derryberry

I JUST HOPE STEVEN DOESN'T STAND US UP AGAIN I WOULDN'T LIKE IT IFF WE HAD TO SLEEP OUTSIDE ON SAT. BECAUSE SOMETHING CAME UP OR SOMEBODY GOT STUCK IN THE SNOW.

LOVE THE OKLAHOMAN ABE LEMONS GETTING THE PRISTIGIOUS HONOR OF MOTIVATING THE EAGLES TO VICTORY(OR AT LEAST A CLOSE LOSS). BE PREPARED FOR THE CONDOR SWOOP, I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO PREPARE EVERYONE FOR PLENTY OF NO-LOOK PASSES, SO KEEP YOUR HANDS UP AND YOUR EYES OPEN. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ON THIER CONDITIONING I HOPE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE READY RUN AROUND ALL WEEKEND. I'M ALSO LOVING THE FACT THAT WE HAVE AN ATHLETIC DEPT. NOW. OH AND THIS TIME I WILL BE TAKING MONEY IN THE POKER GAMES.
