Flying Eagles News to attend to

Flag Football was successful if success means getting together with friends and having a kick ass time, not so successful if you're counting wins and losses. Your fighting flying eagles went 0-2 in Ames. Not exactly the results the Flying Eagle athletic club was looking for, but we'll be back better than ever.


There are some things to discuss my fellow eagles. As most of you know we are having a get together at Zach's house over Labor Day Weekend. We have decided that is the date we will finally sign this club into established state. SO it will be Flying Eagles Founded RED Cabin June 15Th 2006 Established Letzring Ranch August 31st 2007.
This will mean all the elected officials such as sectary, treasurer, the four elected members of the inner nest will start their two year term into office.

We will hopefully with the approval of all eagles have some awards to hand out, first though we must have annual awards to give out. So we are here today to vote on some awards being purposed by the Cedar Falls Inner Nest members OF Braden, Kyle, John and with outside assistance from Zach. The awards we are purposing will be given out yearly along with any badge awards (which are given for random acts) that the inner nest think an eagle deserves.

On to the Awards that our being purposed.
High Flyer: Goes to the Member who showed the greatest ability to strive and exceed what the flying Eagles stand for.

Jello molder of the year: Goes to the Member who showed up at a number of events but always seemed to be the least prepared for the outing. The winner of this must bring a jello mold to every Flying Eagle gathering for one year, and they get to pass it on the following year.

The Old Prospector award: For the Eagle who combines the everything that El Dora has to offer and has an outstanding weekend, of drinking, story telling, laughter, moments, and is scene by the group that attended the outing as the most deserving person to be recognized having the best El Dora weekend. This award will be the construction hat the person winning the award will be allowed to add their name in permanent marker with the year they won the award. The Construction hat will change hands every year until we can no longer fit names on the hat. It will then be retired into our archives, and be replaced by a new hat and the tradition will continue.

Hatch ling of the Year, This award goes to a new member who took there duties of an Eagle seriously and were able to demonstrate that to the elder eagles. The trophy still thinking.

Essene of Black Hawk. This award goes to the Eagle who tried the best to connect with our Native American past either through a vision quest, researching our Native Americans, going camping a number of times, and showing the high pride and sense of rep sect for his fellow man and environment. Hoping this trophy is a framed picture of Black Hawk that can be passed around from winner to winner

Eagle Vision, this award goes to the eagle who shows the greatest pride in sharing, telling, and spreading the word about Flying Eagles, by creating blog posts, helping with website, finding new members, and brings guest to Eagle Events that allow for guests.

Mother Hen award. This goes to the girl/boy friend that is not apart of the flying eagles but shows great pride in allowing their significant other to participate in all the activities of the Flying Eagles. They understand, approve and support their partner in this endeavor the their highest potential. Stilling thinking about an award for this.

All the trophies for these awards must be found at a flee market, good will type store, or garage sale.

Unlike our voting process which is pretty wide open in a week we will have nominations for the awards( if approved) and the three permanents members will narrow it down to two nominees for each award. If an inner circel member is nominated the other two will decide who's gets the nomination. Then by secret ballot each eagle will submit by mail or hand it to either the Treasure, and Secretary will count the votes at the Letzring ranch. Our President if available will announce the winners of awards and also any badges being handed out that year. If the president is not available then the vice president, then the members of the inner nest.

Also being purposed by the Cedar Falls Chapters that people actually start paying their club dues to Scottie, as well as we start giving back from league dues to charity. 5% of league dues goes to help animal on the endangered species list, and the other 5% gets donated to the Charity of choice by the winner of the High Flyer award.

And finally I, John have a Nomination for a new Member, Steven i got my shirt ruined in the first game Seufferlein. Steven is my Boss. He has had the pleasure of being on the Flying Eagles Flag Football team. He's an avid movie watcher who can quote with any Eagle member. He also got John, Braden, and Kyle hooked on Arrested Development which they thank him a lot for that. He his a non-drinker and while some eagles may wonder why this is in the positive column, but as we all know a designated driver comes in handy when we get together. Steven has proven himself to be a funny, smart, witty, and nice guy who would be a great addition to the flying eagle ways. I hope those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting him see it fit to allow him into our little club, as a pledges status eagle.
