First of all i think we can all agree the Scottie coining the awards the best of the nest acceptable please ca-cawwwww if you agree in your comment.
i would like to say what a successful summer of fun for the eagles, we had El Dora, we had the flying eagles flag football, we've got awards now, We are finally signing the document into law, and we are having our first corn hole tournament. We have really come along way. I'm just wondering where the East Coast Branch has been, did they decided to form their own club. They showed such promise with Rott video conferencing, and Justin's vision quest, but they've disappeared. I'm concerned, I'm worried and quite frankly i little hurt we haven't heard from them since July. I want the East Coast on Board, I want them commenting, i need more Adam in my life, and more posts like the vision quest which was a classic on the old blog.
Now on to the good news time for Nominations for John Paul (these are just my nominations not the inner circles, so please nominate as you see fit.) Marcus as well nominated and who would have thought he would be the first guy to complete that task.
My high Flyer of the year would be MR. Big Bear Zach Letzring. He continue updates the blog and keeps things fresh and new. He willingly opens his door for many of the Flying Eagle events such as February pot luck, as well as this Labor day corn hole tournament. On countless occasion Zach is my go to guy on ways to get us together, and do new things for the eagles, and even though the man has hardly ever played football he gave it one heck of a go in the Iowa games. There in my mind not been a better eagle.
Jello Molder of the year in my mind goes to Marcus "Jim" Thie because every time we go anywhere Jim either needs to stop at the grocery to pick something up or shows up to El Dora Weekend with a case of beer, 4 brats, and the lebaron. Next to me i think he has the greatest chance of getting lost somewhere and never making it back.
Old Prospector has to go Braden Yauk, the man tried an experiment where he used sun screen on one arm, and butter on the other, he also managed the river in a construction hat. No Eagle came close to matching Braden Yauk this year.
Hatch ling of the Year, goes to Justin in my mind and his ability to provide the Eagles with the best vision quest we've ever had. It is the only vision quest we've had but i know no other new eagle put that kind of effort into showing the club such a big thank you for letting them in. Justin's vision quest will be what all new eagles our compared to
Essence of Black Hawk, Goes to the man if he pit some war paint on and ran around in a loin cloth would like a native American. Plus he sleeps in a hammock not a bed like the rest of us sell outs. That man is Kyle Johnson. While Kyle would make a terrible Native American because he sleeps all day no one can deny he might most resemble one.
Eagle Vision, and even though I'm a little upset at the man right now, I have to Adam Rottinghaus. HE was able to open up a chapter across the country and get new members to join and that my friends is what the Eagle Vision award is about.
Mother Hen, has to go to Jamie, but more importantly it should because She cooks for us, goes out and doesn't complain about us being really drunk and allows to us to have a good time. She has cultivated friendships with us and even comments on the blog every once in a while. I give her a big kudos for letting me cause a scene at the Royal mile with her extremely hot friend and not get pissed at me.
That's it for the awards i think some badges we should consider
the Mule Badge for Scottie obvious reasons ( i believe nominated twice)
Ranger Rott badge for Adam introducing us to El Dora weekend.
the Vilnella Twist badge also going to Adam for the best joke ever at El Dora.
and the lights our on badge to Marcus for trying that pick up line on girls at the end of the night.
From the Desk of John Paul
You just Hugged a Mayor (I'll fill everyone in on that line later)
